Graduate Software / Modelling Developer - Simulation
We are looking to expand the development team at our simulation company Saker Solutions, in order to support new projects and growth.
- Are looking for a role where you can bring real solutions and real benefits to clients across a range of industries?
- Do you want a role where you can use your mathematics and computer skills?
- Do you enjoy problem solving and want a role which is never dull but always challenging and rewarding?
We are looking for consultants to join our expanding Saker Solutions team. This role is not limited to experienced individuals as we will provide all the necessary training and support for you to succeed and therefore we welcome applications from new graduates - you just need to provide the ambition and enthusiasm.
Saker Solutions produce digital twins, which are virtual 3D models of real-life assets that can be used to monitor and evaluate performance, and then orchestrate operational improvements. They also provide simulation analytics which combine digital twins with past experience data to predict future outcomes and inform business decisions. The company has a diverse range of clients across industrial sectors including nuclear, oil & gas, distribution & logistics, manufacturing and food & beverage, and they regularly work with some of the UK’s leading universities to advance the development of digital twin and business analytics solutions.
After an initial training period, with appropriate support to integrate you into the team, the role will involve:
- Working alone and as part of a team, liaising with clients in a customer focused organisation.
- Development of software applications using Saker's Framework methodology.
- Responsibility for the management of projects.
- Interpreting business requirements and ensuring developed applications fulfil the requirements.
- Working with other team members to ensure the development meet quality objectives.
- Identifying and exploring innovative solutions in new application areas.
You will need:
- At least a 2:1 degree in a highly numerate field (or expect to receive)
- An MSc is preferable but not essential – ideally in Maths, Operational Research, Statistics or Computer Science
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- The ability to communicate complex information
If you have an understanding of simulation software, discrete event simulation, system dynamics and agent based modelling, gained from University or work experience, this would be desirable but is not essential.
This role is not limited to experienced individuals and we welcome applications from new graduates with limited experience but a willingness to learn.
Candidates should note that employment in this role will be conditional upon achieving National Security Vetting clearance.
