In response to the Government’s 10 Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution, ITI’s CEO Andrew Mills said:

“We don’t have the luxury of time and ITI welcome this policy with open arms.  A green revolution cannot come soon enough, and this plan sets out a series of transitions that will stimulate innovation, create and maintain jobs, helping to rebuild the UK economy whilst ensuring a net zero future.

“The Prime Minister spoke of using ‘the UK’s extraordinary powers of invention’ to ‘transform life as we know it’.  This ethos mirrors our values and our promise to our customers to use innovation to transform and enhance their operations, and a major part of this is helping them to navigate the energy transition.  ITI are poised to leverage our business analytics, robust hardware and smart software to support our customers’ endeavours to reach net zero and provide a sustainable future for our world.”

Chris Stones, Sales Director for Oil & Gas added:

“We’re pleased to see Carbon Capture Storage (CCS) back on the agenda, as this is a real chance for the oil and gas industry to positively impact the achievement of net zero.  Not only the opportunity to offset carbon emissions but also in the positive repurposing of existing brownfield UKCS assets and infrastructure.  ITI are proud to be involved in two of the UK front running CCS projects in their early stages of development and are excited at the prospect of supporting the initiatives through to realisation.

“The promise to invest into and focus on green hydrogen is incredibly positive news, and ITI have been at the forefront of the UK green hydrogen drive since 2012.  We are proud to count two of the world’s leading hydrogen production companies amongst our client base and have been supporting them in their bid to make green hydrogen a more mainstream fuel for almost a decade.  From hydrogen blending into a European National Gas Transmission system to the provision of road vehicle refuellers and even rocket propellant for the European Space Programme, our hydrogen projects have a huge impact in the drive towards net-zero.”

Bryn Thomas, Sales Director for Power & Infrastructure said:

“The development funding for new Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) is particularly promising as these can be built in the UK, creating jobs and growth across the country.  The continued support for large-scale nuclear reflects the increase in energy demand, as nuclear is a proven, reliable source of low-carbon electricity.  We’re proud to be involved with the construction of Hinkley Point C and this pledge from the Government gives further support to the suggestion that Sizewell C is likely to also get the go-ahead, and following that, hopefully proceed at pace!

“ITI has a long, successful history of providing business analytics, reliable software and safety and control systems to the UK’s nuclear industry, where standards are understandably high.  We have some of the industry’s most experienced developers and engineers, who apply their knowledge and innovation across all the sectors that we serve.  The energy transition will require a joined-up approach across the whole energy sector, hence the 10-point plan.  By working together, we can achieve a sustainable, carbon-neutral future.”
